NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices down 4.9 percent in late April

In late April (April 21-30) this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar decreased by RMB 193.6/mt ($28/mt) or 4.9 percent to RMB 3,794.1/mt ($548/mt), compared to prices in mid-April (April 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, medium plate, hot rolled coil (HRC), seamless steel pipes and angles decreased by 4.8 percent, 3.2 percent, 5.1 percent, 1.2 percent and 3.6 percent, respectively, all compared to mid-April.
