Ukraine's coal mining output down 51.2 percent in January

In January this year, Ukraine's coal mining output decreased by 51.2 percent year on year to 3.421 million mt, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

In the meantime, in the given month, Ukrainian production of coking coal declined by 65.9 percent year on year to 691,500 mt, while production of thermal coal decreased by 45.2 percent compared to January 2014 to 2.729 million mt.

In January of the current year, Ukrainian state-owned mines produced 700,000 mt of coal, down 68.1 percent year on year, including 120,400 mt of coking coal and 579,600 mt of thermal coal.
