Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $980/mt, against $1,020/mt three weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
In April, Brazil exported 22,300 mt of HRC, while importing 25,700 mt of the product, against respectively 150,000 mt and 38,800 mt in March.
The exports of April were destined to South American countries (21,700 mt at $677/mt), the US (500 mt at $617/mt) and Mexico (100 mt at $1,366/mt), all FOB conditions. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (20,600 mt at $675/mt), Gerdau (1,000 mt at $639/mt) CSN (600 mt at $709/mt) and Usiminas (100 mt at $1,246/mt), all FOB conditions.
The imports came from China (11,000 mt at $638/mt), South Korea (7,700 mt at $621/mt), Germany (6,200 mt at $902/mt) and Russia (800 mt at $697/mt, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is sold, in medium to high volumes by steel producers, at BRL 6,000/mt ($1,227/mt), against BRL 6,300/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
