Brazilian wire rod exports increase again in April

Wire rod exports from Brazil increased to 36,600 mt in April, against 24,300 mt in March and 18,000 mt in February, according to customs data.

The exports in April were from ArcelorMittal (34,600 mt at $735/mt), Gerdau (1,600 mt at $695/mt), and Simec (400 mt at $994/mt), FOB conditions.

The destinations were Guatemala (13,800 mt at $647/mt), the US (9,800 mt at $916/mt), Dominican Republic (7,800 mt at $670/mt), and South American countries (5,200 mt at $729/mt).

Meanwhile, Brazil imported 37,500 mt of wire rod in April, against 9,600 mt in March. The imports were from Asia (27,600 mt, of which 17,700 mt at $602/mt from China), Russia (8,900 mt at $604/mt), and Germany (1,000 mt at $1,088/mt) also FOB conditions.
