China’s coke output up 2.9 percent in January-October

In the January-October period this year, China’s coke output reached 410 million mt, up 2.9 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the first ten months this year, China’s raw coal output amounted to 3.83 billion mt, rising by 3.1 percent year on year, 0.1 percentage point higher compared to the increase recorded in the January-September period. In the January-October period, China imported 380 million mt of coal, up 66.8 percent year on year.    

In October this year, China imported 35.99 million mt of coal, up 23.3 percent year on year.     

In October alone, China’s coke output and raw coal output totaled 41.54 million mt and 390 million mt, up 5.8 percent and 3.8 percent year on year, respectively.
