France's manufacturing output in August this year increased by 2.2 percent month on month, after a 1.3 percent month-on-month decrease in July, and rose by 0.5 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the June-August period, France’s manufacturing output indicated a decrease of 0.4 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In August, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.4 percent compared to July, after a month-on-month decrease of 1.9 percent in July. In the June-August period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 2.7 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in August production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a growth of 12.6 percent on month-on-month basis after a 5.2 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased by 0.6 percent month on month in August, after an increase of 0.3 percent in July from June. In the June-August period, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry and of the domestic construction industry increased by 0.7 percent year on year and decreased by 1.1 percent quarter on quarter.
