Japan’s new ship export orders decline by 65.6 percent in November from October

According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters’ Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in November this year moved down by 65.6 percent on tonnage basis compared to the previous month, decreasing to six ships, including five carriers and one tanker, compared to 16 ships recorded in October, totaling 236,096 gross tons.

In the first 11 months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 232 ships with an aggregate of 10.25 million gross tons, down 4.2 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in November, Japan delivered 11 ships for export, totaling 414,005 gross tons, compared to 19 ships totaling 623,805 gross tons recorded in October.

Meanwhile, in the January-November period this year, Japan delivered 188 ships for export, totaling 7.40 million gross tons, decreasing by ten percent year on year.
