Finland-based global engineering and technology company Metso Corporation will supply minerals processing equipment and basic engineering to Luxembourg-registered development-stage mining company Northland Resources for the two process lines at its new Kaunisvaara iron ore project in Sweden, exploiting the Tapuli and Sahavaara iron ore deposits.

In addition, Metso and Northland Resources have also signed a letter of intent covering all works related to the process plant system in the Kaunisvaara iron ore project, excluding building structure and related civil works.

The value of the orders has not been disclosed. Delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2012.

The Kaunisvaara iron ore project is located in northern Sweden, approximately 100 km north of the Arctic Circle, in the municipality of Pajala. After completion, the annual capacity of the process plant will be 12 million mt of dry iron ore.
