According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 1.3 percent month on month and rose by 110.6 percent year on year to 235,317 units.
New passenger car registrations in August totaled 89,694 units, decreasing by 6.5 percent as compared to July and rising by 86.2 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 38.1 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in August amounted to 23,959 units, up by 10.7 percent month on month and by 93.0 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 10.2 percent of total new registrations in the given month.
