Turkey-based Yıldız Demir Çelik launches cold rolling mill

Turkish steelmaker Yıldız Demir Çelik has announced that it has launched its 1.5 million mt cold rolling mill following the galvanizing and painting lines launched in March this year, completing the first phase of its investment.

“Apart from forestry products, agriculture, chemicals, port operations and marine transport, we are contributing to the Turkish economy with our latest investment in the iron and steel industry. We will be contributing $1 billion to our country’s struggle against the current deficit with Yıldız Demir Çelik-brand flat steel products completing the second phase of our investment in 2020,” said Hakkı Yıldız, Yıldızlar Yatırım Holding board member, speaking at the launching ceremony.

The steelmaker’s galvanizing line with an annual capacity of 400,000 mt has a product range that can supply to various industries including construction and automotive. Additionally, Yıldız Demir Çelik will cater to the needs of white goods and automotive with its 300,000 mt cleaning line, 300,000 mt annealing line, 450,000 mt tempering mill and 150,000 mt painting line.
