Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) announced that as of February 8, it has commenced an overhaul of Floor Operation 2 and drain equipment Blast Furnace 5, to ensure the availability of these systems to be operational next year.

For 15 days of development, the rehabilitation will focus on changing the structure of the main channel through which the pig iron is led to be removed from the blast furnace body. The gutter will be installed in Blast Furnace 5, built with steel plate manufactured by AHMSA, and armed on-site to ensure the flow of about 5 million tons of pig iron per year.
