AHMSA to receive $30 million financing for environmental projects

Tuesday, 11 October 2016 23:22:46 (GMT+3)   |

Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) announced this week it will receive $30 million in financing through a credit line from the North American Development Bank (NadBank) to modernize emissions controls at its BOF located at its No. 2 mill.

According to the steelmaker, the money will be used to help it make its emission controls more efficient through the installing of a baghouse to capture and then confine emissions from its scrap, steel loading, hot steel and cargo areas.

As a way to help AHMSA use the resources, NadBank hired Canadian firm Aecom, which will oversee and approve the technical and financial aspects of the project in different stages, from the sourcing of teams to the choosing of technology, installing and functioning of the system.
