Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal has inked an agreement with European automotive supplier Snop for sustainability.
Within the scope of the agreement, Snop will commit to trial use high strength and low-carbon steel in structural car parts through XCarb solutions. This is expected to contribute to decarbonization of the auto industry.
In addition, Snop will use a high-strength metal called Usibor during production processes. Usibor produced with XCarb technology has a carbon footprint that is almost 70 percent lower compared to conventionally produced steel.
