Global steel giant ArcelorMittal has announced that ArcelorMittal Poland has commissioned a pulverized coal injection (PCI) facility and a modernized sinter belt at its Dąbrowa Górnicza plant.

ArcelorMittal Poland has invested PLN 140 million ($45.3 million) in these two projects. The PCI facility will optimize production costs of hot metal used for steel production, by replacing coke with pulverized coal. The modernization of sinter belt No. 2 will increase sinter production capacity. In addition, two newly-installed electro-filters will significantly reduce dust emissions.
