Friday, 20 March 2015 17:52:27 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul
Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal has announced that its European unit ArcelorMittal Europe Long Products has supplied more than 20,000 mt of rebar for the construction of seven new underground stations in Warsaw, Poland.

ArcelorMittal said that Stal Service cut and bending company, which supplies steel structures for construction projects, has been collaborating with ArcelorMittal Warszawa since 2008, which was the determining factor why ArcelorMittal was chosen for this project.

ArcelorMittal Warszawa supplied more than 20,000 mt of 20-32 mm rebar, grade B500SP EPSTAL, for the construction of the new stations. The construction of the central section of the second Warsaw metro line began in September 2010. It is 6.1 km long, including 600 meters of tunnel under the Vistula River and a 500-meter tunnel connecting the first and second metro lines. It has seven stations, located between 13 meters and 23 meters underground.
