Argentinian crude steel production slightly declines in October

Argentinian crude steel output in October slightly declined 0.2 percent, year-on-year, to 446,200 mt, local steel association Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA), said on Tuesday. Argentinian crude steel production in October improved 2.6 percent, month-on-month, from 434,700 mt in September this year.

Hot rolled finished steel production in October totaled 398,600 mt, 39.2 percent up, year-on-year, but 0.6 percent down on a month-on-month basis. Cold rolled flat steel production in October decreased 3.1 percent, year-on-year, and 18.3 percent, month-on-month, to 88,300 mt, the lowest level reported so far in the year.

As for the accumulated period of January to October, local crude steel production reached 4.34 million mt, 14.2 percent up, year-on-year. Hot rolled finished steel production in the ten-month period was 4.09 million mt, 9 percent up, year-on-year. On the other hand, cold rolled flat steel production in the January-October period fell 1.1 percent, year-on-year, to 1.08 million mt.
