Australia ends AD probe on hollow structural sections from India, UAE

Monday, 25 July 2016 17:44:44 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Australia's Antidumping Commission has announced that it has decided to terminate its antidumping (AD) duty investigation regarding certain hollow structural section imports from India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The commission has found that, in relation to the Indian exporter Garg Tubes Limited and the UAE-based exporter Universal Tubes and Plastic Industries Limited, there has been no dumping, while, in relation to Indian exporters Surya Global Steel Tubes Ltd and Utkarsh Tubes and Pipes Ltd and UAE-based Universal Tube and Pipe Industries LLC, the goods exported have been dumped, but the dumping margin is less than two percent. Accordingly, the commission stated that there has been, or may be, dumping of some or all of the goods, but the injury, if any, is negligible, therefore it has terminated the investigation.

The antidumping duty investigation was launched in December 22, 2015 upon the application lodged by Australia-based Austube Mills Pty. Ltd.

The products in question currently fall under the Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7306.30.00, 7306.50.00, 7306.61.00, 7306.69.00 and 7306.90.00.
