The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (CBPS) has announced the termination of the investigations into the alleged dumping and subsidization of certain hollow structural sections (HSS) exported to Australia from China.
The investigations in question were initiated on December 18, 2008 following an application by OneSteel Australian Tube Mills Pty Ltd, trading as Australian Tube Mills, and Orrcon Operations Pty Ltd.
As a result of the investigations, the CBPS was satisfied there has been, or may be, dumping of some or all of the goods covered by the application that have been, or may be, exported to Australia from China, but that the injury, if any, to the Australian industry, that has been, or may be, caused by that dumping is negligible.
The CBPS was also satisfied there has been, or may be, subsidization of some or all of the goods covered by the application that have been, or may be, exported to Australia from China, but that the injury, if any, to the Australian industry, that has been, or may be, caused by that subsidization is negligible.
Therefore, the CBPS has decided to terminate the investigation into the alleged dumping and subsidization of the goods from China.
The investigations concern the alleged dumping and subsidization of the goods classified under tariff subheadings 7306.30.00, 7306.61.00 and 7306.69.00 in the Australian Customs Tariff Act.
