Austria-based steel construction company Unger Steel Group has announced that it has begun to benefit from sustainable solutions such as green steel and clean energy during its operations in order to reduce its carbon emissions.

In line with its intention to contribute to a circular economy, the company has installed a 1,450 kWp photovoltaic system, meeting its own clean energy needs. In the meantime, Unger is processing carbon-reduced steel, which, according to them, can reduce carbon emissions by up to about 70 percent. Also, the Austrian company will soon publish its environmental product declarations for its processed profiles and heavy plate constructions. This way, it has strengthened its position as a market leader in the steel construction industry.

“A future in which green steel is the norm and not the exception. We are committed to paving the way for a sustainable construction industry through constant innovation, transparency and collaboration. We firmly believe that environmental responsibility and economic success can and must go hand in hand,” Matthias Unger, CEO of Unger, commented.
