Automotive sales in Turkey up 55.3 percent in January-June

In June this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey rose by 37.5 percent year on year and decreased by 0.44 percent month on month to 110,861 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey moved up by 40.1 percent year on year and by 3.0 percent month on month to 89,833 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 27.3 percent year on year and decreased by 12.9 percent month on month to 21,028 units.

In the January-June period this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 55.3 percent year on year, amounting to 555,867 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country grew by 54.5 percent to 429,870 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 58.2 percent to 125,997 units, both on year-on-year basis.
