Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe produces first pipe at Karamay plant

Chinese steel pipe producer Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe Co., a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), has announced that it has produced the first steel pipes at its new plant in Karamay in China's Xinjiang autonomous region, successfully producing 1,220 mm x 14 mm diameter welded pipes.

Construction on the Karamay pipe project, which began in July last year, is still continuing. while the total investment is expected to amount to RMB 340 million ($57.8 million). Upon completion, annual output capacity will be 120,000 mt.
