Chinese steel giant Baosteel's cold rolling plant has lately succeeded in producing 100 mt of DI (drawn and ironed) steel of 0.225 mm in thickness and 1,050 mm in width. Baosteel has thus reached advanced international levels in terms of controlling the thickness and width of DI steel.

Upon inspection, all performance indicators of the first batch of the product were found to be up to standard, with a thickness accuracy deviation of just 1.5 percent.

Baosteel commenced its independent development of DI steel in 1998, reducing product thickness from an initial 0.282 mm to 0.23 mm by the end of 2008.
