BMZ issues January-April production results

Byelorussian Iron and Steel Works (BMZ) has issued its production results for the first four months of 2009.

Accordingly, during the given period the mill recorded an 4.3 percent increase in its crude steel production to 861,587 mt and a 5.5 percent rise in its rolled steel production to 713,764 mt, both compared with the same period last year. Meanwhile, BMZ's output of steel pipes decreased by one percent year on year to 13,197 mt.

The company's exports for January-April 2009 amounted to a value of $284,763, down 49.6 percent year on year.
