Brazil temporarily reduces imports tariff over 151 capital goods

Brazil’s chamber of foreign trade (Camex) has temporarily reduced the “ad valorem” imports tariff of 151 capital goods, according to a filing published this week at the nation’s official gazette, Diario Oficial da Uniao (DOU).

According to Camex, the aliquots were reduced from 14 percent to 2 percent. Most of product’s aliquots are valid until December 31, 2017.

Products with the reduced imports tariff include CNC machines and steel guides with specific measures. 

For some other capital goods, the imports tariff reduction is valid until December 31, 2016.
