Brazilian sales of flat steel by local distributors in June rose 1.2 percent, year-on-year, but declined 5 percent, month-on-month, to 261,500 mt, the nation’s distributors association, Inda, said on Tuesday.
According to Inda, purchases of flat steel by local distributors in June rose 5.3 percent, year-on-year, but fell 0.7 percent, month-on-month, to 249,000 mt.
Inventories in June diminished 1.4 percent, month-on-month, to 866,000 mt, while inventory’s turnover slightly rose to 3.3 months from 3.2 months in May.
Flat steel imports by local distributors in June decreased 83.6 percent, year-on-year, and 44.2 percent, month-on-month, to 28,900 mt.
As for July, Inda expects both local sales and purchases of flat steel to remain stable when compared to June.
