Brazil’s civil construction activity improves in May

Activity in Brazil’s civil construction segment has improved from 37.7 points in May 2015 to 40.1 points in May 2016 on a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth.

According to information released this week by the nation’s confederation of industries, CNI, the level of activity in Brazil’s civil construction segment also improved on a month-on-month analysis, rising from 36.4 points in April.

The utilization of the industry’s capacity in May also showed signs of recovery, improving to 56 points in May from 54 points in April this year. However, in the year-on-year analysis it declined from 61 points in May 2015.

The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the industry rose to 38.1 points in May, up from 36.6 points in April this year, same level reached in May 2015.
