Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 29.01 million mt in June of the current year, falling by 14.6 percent compared to May and down by 9.4 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in June totaled $1.08 billion, decreasing by 19.4 percent compared to the previous month and down 11.1 percent year on year.
In June, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 752,934 mt, falling by 14 percent compared to the previous month and down by 3.46 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $240.38 million, decreasing by 3.8 percent compared to May and down 9.3 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in May Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 250,526 metric tons, rising by 38.6 percent from May and down by 16.3 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $134.37 million, rising by 34.5 percent month on month and down 20.9 percent from the June 2015 level.
