Brazil's iron ore export volume amounted to 29.95 million mt in February of the current year, rising by 19.6 percent compared to January and up 18.5 percent compared to the same month of 2015, according to the information released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Brazil's iron ore export value in February totaled $685.6 million, increasing by 4.5 percent compared to the previous month and down 45.9 percent year on year.
In February, Brazil's export volume of semi-finished products of iron and steel amounted to 648,083 mt, rising 4.5 percent compared to the previous month and up by 46.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while these exports were valued at $169.5 million, increasing by 5.5 percent compared to January and down 12.7 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in February Brazil's flat steel exports totaled 321,230 metric tons, rising by 36.3 percent from January and up by 97.6 percent year on year. The revenue generated by these exports totaled $134.7 million, rising by 20.3 percent month on month and up 24.4 percent from the February 2015 level.
