British Steel to supply rails for Belgian railways

UK-based steelmaker British Steel has announced that it has signed a four-year agreement with Belgian railway infrastructure manager Infrabel to supply 40,000 mt of high-quality rails for the maintenance and renewal of tracks across the rail network.

Deliveries are scheduled to start this month.

The 100-metre-long rails will be manufactured at the company’s Rail and Section Mill in Scunthorpe, before making their way by rail to Infrabel’s facility in Belgium.
