Byelorussian Steelworks orders new equipment for Zhlobin facility

Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has received an order from Byelorussian Steelworks (BMZ) for secondary metallurgical plants for its Zhlobin facility, located in the Gomel region in the southwest of Belarus.

The secondary metallurgical systems Siemens will supply for the Zhlobin factory include two 100-ton ladle furnaces, a 100-ton RH plant, the complete alloy material management including the weighing and transport systems, a dust extraction system and water management.

With this new equipment, BMZ aims to increase its production capacity to around 1.2 million mt per year and expand its product range and quality. The project is to be completed in early 2013.
