Canadian iron ore company Champion Iron Limited has announced that it is gradually resuming operations at its Bloom Lake iron ore mine in western Labrador, following the evacuation and temporary cessation of operations due to the wildfire in the region, as SteelOrbis reported previously.

With the wildfire abating, the company has begun to progressively bring back its workforce. Since the fire did not cause any damage to its infrastructure, Champion Iron expects to gradually increase production and shipments from the mine.

The company also added that it is cooperating with the local authorities and the railway operator to expedite a return to normal operations.
