Canadian iron ore production down 1.0 percent in February

According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 5,296,057 mt of iron ore concentrates in February 2024, down 1.0 percent from January but up 21.9 percent from February 2023.

Canadian iron ore producers shipped 3,310,588 mt of iron ore concentrates in February, up 4.4 percent from January and up 24.8 percent from February 2023.

Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers totaled 8,574,496 mt in February, compared to 8,145,899 mt in January and 8,509,345 mt in February 2023.
