China’s coke output down 1.9 percent in Jan-May

In the January-May period this year, China’s coke output reached 199.47 million mt, down 1.9 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the first five months this year, China’s raw coal output amounted to 1.85788 billion mt, decreasing by 3.0 percent year on year.

In May alone, China’s outputs of coke and raw coal totaled 40.96 million mt and 383.85 million mt, declining by 1.5 percent and 0.8 percent year on year, respectively.

In the first five months, China imported 200 million mt of coal, up 12.6 percent year on year. In May, China imported 43.82 million mt of coal, up 10.7 percent year on year.
