China’s crude steel output up 0.5 percent in April

In April this year, China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 58.42 million mt, 69.42 million mt and 96.68 million mt, down 2.0 percent, up 0.5 percent and rising by 0.5 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the January-April period of the current year, China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs totaled 224.86 million mt, 261.42 million mt and 359.49 million mt, down 3.7 percent, decreasing by 2.3 percent and increasing by 0.2 percent year on year, respectively.
