China’s crude steel output up 1.8 percent in May

In May this year, China produced 60.65 million mt of pig iron, 70.50 million mt of crude steel and 99.46 million mt of finished steel, down 0.2 percent, up 1.8 percent and increasing by 2.1 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on June 13.
 
In the January-May period of the current year, China produced 285.50 million mt of pig iron, 329.95 million mt of crude steel and 458.54 million mt of finished steel, down 2.8 percent, decreasing by 1.4 percent and increasing by 1.0 year on year, respectively.
