China’s foreign trade value down 8.7 percent in H1

In June this year, China’s total foreign trade value amounted to $312.658 billion, indicating a month-on-month increase of 0.9 percent and a year-on-year decrease of 6.4 percent, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on July 13. In the given month, the total value of China’s exports amounted to $180.383 billion, up 0.9 percent month on month and decreasing by 4.8 percent year on year, while Chinese imports totaled $132.275 billion in value, up 0.9 percent month on month and declining by 8.4 percent year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of $48.108 billion.
 
In the first half of the current year, China’s total foreign trade value amounted to $1.712673 trillion, down 8.7 percent year on year, while the value of China’s exports totaled $985.479 billion, down 7.7 percent, with imports amounting to $727.194 billion in value, declining by 10.2 percent, both year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of $258.285 billion in the given period.
