China’s HRC output up 12.9 percent in January-September

In the January-September period this year, China’s hot rolled coil (HRC) production amounted to 154.119 million mt, up 12.9 percent year on year, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the same period, China’s cold rolled coil (CRC) production totaled 28.925 million mt, up 3.4 percent year on year.

In September alone, China’s hot rolled coil (HRC) production and cold rolled coil (CRC) production totaled 17.77 million mt and 3.675 million mt, up 17 percent and 13.3 percent year on year, while decreasing by 1.34 percent and declining by 4.61 percent month on month, respectively.

HRC prices in the Chinese domestic market moved down in September, with the highest level in September at RMB 4,100/mt ($571/mt) seen on September 4-5, and the lowest level in the month observed on September 27 at RMB 3,930/mt ($547/mt).
