China’s iron ore imports increase by 9.1 percent in Jan-Sept

In September this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 92.99 million mt, up 6.0 percent month on month and increasing by 7.98 percent year on year, while in the January-September period this year China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 762.55 million mt, up 9.1 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on October 13.

In September this year, China imported 1.13 million mt of finished steel, up 1.8 percent month on month and increasing by 11.9 percent year on year. In the January-September period, China’s imports of finished steel totaled 9.83 million mt, rising by one percent year on year.
