China’s iron ore imports up 6.4 percent in January-February

In February this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 73.61 million mt, down 10.4 percent month on month and increasing by 8.4 percent year on year, while in the January-February period this year China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 155.80 million mt, up 6.4 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on March 8.

In February this year, China imported 930,000 mt of finished steel, remaining stable month on month and rising by 6.9 percent year on year. In the January-February period, China’s imports of finished steel totaled 1.86 million mt, declining by 8.4 percent year on year.
