China’s iron ore imports up 9.1 percent in H1

In June this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 81.63 million mt, down 6.69 percent month on month and increasing by 8.9 percent year on year, while in the first half of the year China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 493.74 million mt, up 9.1 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
 
In June this year, China imported 1.14 million mt of finished steel, up 4.59 percent month on month and decreasing by 2.6 percent year on year. In the first half of the year, China’s imports of finished steel totaled 6.46 million mt, declining by 2.8 percent year on year.
