China’s overall rail passenger volume up 9.6 percent in May

In May this year, the passenger volume on China’s railways amounted to 232.48 million, up 20.38 million or 9.6 percent year on year, as announced by China Railway Corporation.

In the given month, the container shipment volume handled by China’s railways amounted to 11.48 million mt, up 3.20 million mt or 38.6 percent year on year.
