China’s steel bar exports increase by 22.5 percent in January-July

In July this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rods and steel plates amounted to 4.28 million mt, 420,000 mt, 220,000 mt, and 4.35 million mt, up 0.4 percent, down 23.3 percent, up 4.9 percent, and increasing by 16.6 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
 
In the January-July period of the current year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rods and steel plates totaled 28.04 million mt, 3.24 million mt, 1.38 million mt, and 27.93 million mt, increasing by 22.5 percent, down 2.5 percent, up 2.0 percent, and increasing by 2.0 percent, respectively, year on year.
 
In July this year, China exported 10.30 million mt of finished steel, up 5.85 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the January-July period this year totaled 67.41 million mt, increasing by 8.5 percent year on year, as previously announced by Chinese customs.
