China’s steel sheet/plate exports totaled 36.45 million mt in the January-June period this year, up 31.2 percent year on year, according to the Chinese customs authorities.
In June alone, China exported 5.82 million mt of steel sheet/plate, up 25.9 percent year on year, while down 10.5 percent compared to the export volume of 6.5 million mt recorded in May.
In June, China’s HRC export prices declined overall, with the highest price level during the month at $545/mt FOB on average from large mills seen during June 1-3, and with the lowest level at $525/mt FOB observed during June 25-30, according to SteelOrbis’ data.
