In the January-November period this year, the weighted-average purchase costs in China of coking coal, metallurgical coke, domestic production iron ore fines, import iron ore fines and ferrous scrap decreased by 7.26 percent, 11.22 percent, 0.23 percent, 4.68 percent and 8.28 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
In November alone, the weighted-average purchase costs of coking coal decreased by 1.52 percent, while purchase costs of metallurgical coke, Chinese domestic production iron ore fines (dry basis), import iron ore fines and ferrous scrap increased by 1.83 percent, 3.28 percent, 2.98 percent and 0.41 percent month on month, respectively.
