Iron ore prices in China shifted from a downtrend to an upward movement during the month of June, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).
At the end of June this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 198.77 points, up 13.02 points or 7.01 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 188.90 points, down 1.01 points or 0.53 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 200.63 points, increasing by 15.66 points or 8.47 percent month on month.
For the whole month of June, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 189.99 points, down 10.23 points or 5.11 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 188.08 points, down 9.78 points or 4.94 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 190.36 points, decreasing by 10.30 points or 5.13 percent, both month on month.
