Colombian auto sales decline in January

Colombian sales of autos in January declined 21.2 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s automotive industry association, Andemos.

According to Andemos, sales of cars in Colombia in the first month of the year totaled 16,763 units, down from 21,261 units sold in the same period of the year prior. When compared to December 2015 figures, the decline was 43.3 percent.

Colombia’s top three automakers in terms of number of sales in January were Chevrolet, Renault and Kia, which accounted for a combined 55.7 percent share of the total sales in the first month of the year.
