Saint-Petersburg region-based pipe producer Trubostal, a subsidiary of leading Russian independent network company for the steel market Comtech, has announced that it has developed the production of thin-walled pipes at its mill 18-60.

"During the current economic situation the developers pay special attention to cuts in expenses; therefore, one of the main trends nowadays is the construction of structures from thin-walled pipes," states the company's release.

The new pipes with wall thicknesses of 0.8 mm, 1 mm, 1.2 mm and 1.5 mm maintain high strength properties and weigh less.

Furthermore, the steady demand for thin-walled pipes is also based on the regular consumption of the products in question by machine-building companies.
