CPCA: China’s passenger vehicle retail sales down 3% in May

Passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 1.685 million units in May this year, down 3.0 percent year on year, while increasing 10.0 percent month on month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

In the current year up to May 31, passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 8.052 million units, up 5.0 percent year on year.     

In May, new energy passenger vehicle retail sales totaled 790,000 units, up 36.0 percent year on year, while increasing by 17.0 percent month on month.  

In the current year up to May 31, new energy passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 3.242 million units, up 34.0 percent year on year.
