The Argentine chamber of the steel industry, Acero Argentino (AA), informed that the country’s crude steel production in November has reached 338,500 mt, against 359,600 mt in October.
On the same comparative basis, the production of HRC declined by 6.2 percent to 174,000 mt, the production of CRC declined by 12.9 percent to 92,600 mt and the production of long products increased by 4.4 percent to 158,100 mt.
When compared to November 2023, the numbers show crude steel production declining by 18.1 percent, HRC production increasing by 15.0 percent, CRC production declining by 4.3 percent and long products production declining by 21.6 percent.
According to AA, the country’s civil construction sector, one of the main consumers of steel products, the performance declined in November by 3 percent from October and by 15 percent from November 2023, while during the first eleven months of the year there was a decline of 25 percent from the same period in 2023.
For its turn, in the automotive sector production in November increased by 2.4 percent from October and by 5.1 percent from November 2023, but when considering the first eleven months of the year, there was an 18.3 percent production decline.
Machinery and agriculture equipment maintains good prospects for the next wheat crop, with preliminary numbers showing an increase in November 2024 from November 2023.
