Czech-based Třinecké Železárny posts lower sales revenues for 2023

Czech steelmaker Třinecké Železárny has announced its financial and operational results for 2023. For the given year, the company posted a net profit of CZK 44 million ($1.88 million), while its sales revenue came to CZK 49.69 billion ($2.13 billion), compared to CZK 57.6 billion in 2022.

In 2023, Třinecké Železárny produced 2.41 million mt of steel and its production capacity utilization was 96 percent. The company’s market share in the country increased to 71 percent in 2023. The company exported 937,500 mt of wire rod, 487,000 mt of steel bar and profile and 250,000 mt of rails last year.

According to its statement, the company will complete an investment project for the heat treatment of rails this year. In addition, Třinecké Železárny continues to implement green transformation projects. The company will build a new electric arc furnace by 2030, replacing half of the existing steel production, and an iron ore briquetting line by the end of 2027, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
